The company's headquarters and production facilities are located on the outskirts of Liberec in Kateřinské údolí, in a place with a long industrial history. Already at the end of the 18th century with the development of textile production there was a rolling mill, later one of the most modern textile factories in Austria-Hungary. After 1970, thanks to the newly emerging need to protect people and property, the main activity became the development and production of electric fire and security alarm systems.

Social changes in 1989 enabled further development, in 1992 the state-owned company became independent and the joint-stock company LITES was established. Production was modernized, and the first addressable systems were developed, including systems for wagons and rail vehicles.
In 2008, the company passed to the hands of new owners, who changed the name to LITES Liberec, and who invested not only in complete reconstruction, construction of new production facilities and purchase of the latest production technologies, but especially in development of new modern electrical fire alarm systems.
